In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of adipic acid, its salts and esters, when their volume decreased by -25.9% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 561%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, adipic acid imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 368% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.
