Amplifier Market Size in GCC

In 2022, the GCC amplifier market increased by 0.1% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a noticeable decline. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

Amplifier Production in GCC

In value terms, amplifier production contracted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in GCC

In 2022, overseas shipments of amplifiers were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, amplifier exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates prevails in exports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 86% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X units) and Oman (X units), together mixing up an 11% share of total exports. Bahrain (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to amplifier exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at -6.7%. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+32.0%) and Oman (+23.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +32.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Bahrain (-29.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United Arab Emirates (+18 p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+6.2 p.p.) and Oman (+4.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Bahrain saw its share reduced by -28.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest amplifier supplier in GCC, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Oman, with a 6.3% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, amplifier exports declined by an average annual rate of -2.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+23.9% per year) and Oman (+28.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -7.4% against the previous year. Export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, amplifier export price increased by +43.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 38%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while Bahrain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (+11.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Amplifier Imports

Imports in GCC

In 2022, overseas purchases of amplifiers increased by 9.1% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 139% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, amplifier imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates dominates imports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 80% of total imports in 2022. Kuwait (X units) held a 7.1% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Qatar (5.8%) and Bahrain (5.3%). Oman (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -2.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bahrain (+4.6%) and Qatar (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bahrain emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +4.6% from 2012-2022. Kuwait experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Oman (-7.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Bahrain (+2.4 p.p.) and Qatar (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -3.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported amplifiers in GCC, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Qatar ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates totaled -1.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Qatar (+2.0% per year) and Kuwait (-0.3% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, falling by -17.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 91% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
