The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 125%. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Oman (-3.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Imports in GCC

In 2022, the amount of brooms, brushes, and mops imported in GCC fell to X units, with a decrease of -6.6% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 20%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, broom, brush, and mop imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell markedly in the following year.

The United Arab Emirates represented the main importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 78% of total imports. Kuwait (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Oman (4.7%). Qatar (X units) and Bahrain (X units) held a little share of total imports.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -2.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Oman (+15.3%), Qatar (+15.1%) and Bahrain (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +15.3% from 2012-2022. Kuwait experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Oman (+3.7 p.p.) and Qatar (+3.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -9.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported brooms, brushes, and mops in GCC, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Qatar, with a 6.8% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, broom, brush, and mop imports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kuwait (+7.9% per year) and Qatar (+4.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country
