The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the production volume increased by 89% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, shipments abroad of brushes constituting parts of appliances was finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 114% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, appliance part brush exports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 95%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was near 94% of total exports in 2022. Oman (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of brushes constituting parts of appliances. At the same time, Oman (+18.4%) and Saudi Arabia (+8.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +18.4% from 2012-2022. While the share of Oman (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest appliance part brush supplier in GCC, comprising 91% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Oman ($X), with a 3.2% share of total exports.

In the United Arab Emirates, appliance part brush exports contracted by an average annual rate of -2.1% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Oman (+12.7% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+17.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -17.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in GCC

For the fourth year in a row, GCC recorded growth in purchases abroad of brushes constituting parts of appliances, which increased by 13% to X units in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 45%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, appliance part brush imports fell to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the key importing country with an import of about X units, which resulted at 80% of total imports. Kuwait (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Oman (6.7%). Qatar (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the brushes constituting parts of appliances imports, with a CAGR of +16.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Qatar (+8.8%), Kuwait (+6.1%) and Oman (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. The United Arab Emirates (+22 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kuwait and Oman saw its share reduced by -8.2% and -9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported brushes constituting parts of appliances in GCC, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Qatar ($X), with a 7.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Oman, with a 5.6% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, appliance part brush imports increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Qatar (+12.7% per year) and Oman (+1.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -17.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
