Saudi Arabia (X tons) remains the largest chicken table egg producing country in GCC, accounting for 67% of total volume. Moreover, chicken table egg production in Saudi Arabia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Kuwait (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), with an 11% share.
In Saudi Arabia, chicken table egg production expanded at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Kuwait (+5.3% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+3.3% per year).

Exports in GCC
Chicken table egg exports plummeted to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -24.5% on 2021. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, chicken table egg exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+0.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in GCC
Chicken table egg imports expanded slightly to X tons in 2022, increasing by 2.1% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 190% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, chicken table egg imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 158%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates represented the key importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 54% of total imports. Qatar (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 21% share, followed by Oman (14%) and Bahrain (9.1%). Kuwait (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chicken table egg imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at +26.0%. At the same time, Qatar (+122.3%), Kuwait (+36.8%), Bahrain (+31.8%) and Oman (+13.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chicken table eggs in GCC, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Qatar ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Oman, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates totaled +20.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Qatar (+97.3% per year) and Oman (+8.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -1.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 13%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (-1.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
