The volume of export peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 91% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X units), comprising a 9.1% share of total exports.
The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard exports, with a CAGR of +8.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+8.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest wood dryer supplier in GCC, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.

In 2021, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, surging by 9.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates stood at $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+16.1%).

Imports in GCC
In 2021, approx. X units of dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard were imported in GCC; falling by -15.9% on the previous year. In general, imports faced a sharp slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 1,274%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood dryer imports reduced notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 286%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
Qatar was the main importer of dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard in GCC, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was near 58% of total imports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X units) held a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kuwait (7.4%) and Bahrain (5.3%). Oman (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood dryer imports into Qatar stood at -38.4%. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+4.6%) and Bahrain (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +4.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Oman (-8.0%) and Kuwait (-14.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+25 p.p.), Kuwait (+6.7 p.p.), Bahrain (+5.2 p.p.) and Oman (+4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Qatar (-40.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard in GCC, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Bahrain, with a 3.3% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, wood dryer imports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kuwait (-9.3% per year) and Bahrain (-6.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -24.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the import price increased by 1,904% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Qatar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Qatar (+17.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
