In 2022, the amount of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled exported in GCC reduced markedly to X units, waning by -16.8% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports faced a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, invalid carriage exports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a significant decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates represented the key exporter of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled in GCC, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. 78% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Oman (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units), together constituting a 19% share of total exports. Kuwait (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -13.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Oman (+41.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +41.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-1.8%) and Kuwait (-16.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Oman (+12 p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (+4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -1.6% and -12.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest invalid carriage supplier in GCC, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Oman ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 6.3% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, invalid carriage exports decreased by an average annual rate of -22.3% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+61.8% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-2.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 5.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 32% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+14.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the third year in a row, GCC recorded decline in supplies from abroad of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled, which decreased by -55.6% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, invalid carriage imports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 38%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates was the main importing country with an import of around X units, which finished at 53% of total imports. Kuwait (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 18% share, followed by Oman (15%) and Qatar (10%). Bahrain (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to invalid carriage imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at +4.0%. At the same time, Qatar (+20.2%), Oman (+11.0%) and Bahrain (+5.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by Qatar, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates totaled +1.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kuwait (+1.7% per year) and Qatar (+13.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
