In value terms, solid-liquid separator exports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a mild setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 84%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The United Arab Emirates was the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached 86% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X units), comprising a 10% share of total exports. Kuwait (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of machinery for solid-liquid separation. At the same time, Kuwait (+17.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +17.8% from 2012-2022. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest solid-liquid separator supplier in GCC, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 6.6% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates stood at -1.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (-2.8% per year) and Kuwait (+12.8% per year).

In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per thousand units, with a decrease of -27% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 87%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per thousand units. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per thousand units), while Kuwait ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (-0.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, overseas purchases of machinery for solid-liquid separation increased by 12% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 77%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, solid-liquid separator imports stood at $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 31%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates was the largest importer of machinery for solid-liquid separation in GCC, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was approx. 68% of total imports in 2022. Oman (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Kuwait (X units) and Bahrain (X units). All these countries together took approx. 32% share of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -3.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Oman (+2.2%) and Bahrain (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +2.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kuwait (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Oman and Bahrain increased by +5.8 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for solid-liquid separation in GCC, comprising 43% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Oman ($X), with a 7.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with a 6.4% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, solid-liquid separator imports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Oman (+0.7% per year) and Kuwait (-0.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -4.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, solid-liquid separator import price increased by +103.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 87% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Bahrain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
