In 2022, overseas shipments of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars were finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. In general, exports saw a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 592% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, snow motor vehicle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 558%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 96% of total exports in 2022. Saudi Arabia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars exports, with a CAGR of +14.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+6.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia increased by +13 and +2.9 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest snow motor vehicle supplier in GCC, comprising 97% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates amounted to +21.1%.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -22.3% against the previous year. Export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, snow motor vehicle export price decreased by -27.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 87% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Saudi Arabia totaled $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.0%).

Imports in GCC

In 2022, approx. X units of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars were imported in GCC; falling by -15.7% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 60%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, snow motor vehicle imports plummeted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 95%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell significantly in the following year.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which resulted at 78% of total imports. Qatar (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 16% share, followed by Kuwait (4.9%).

The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars. At the same time, Qatar (+15.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Qatar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +15.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kuwait (-1.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Qatar increased by +12 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest snow motor vehicle importing markets in GCC were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Qatar ($X) and Kuwait ($X), together accounting for 97% of total imports.

Qatar, with a CAGR of +13.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -30.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 37%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kuwait (+5.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
