In general, imports, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 111% against the previous year. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) was the key importer of non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal, constituting 51% of total imports. Oman (X units) took a 33% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kuwait (8.4%) and Qatar (4.9%). Bahrain (X units) took a minor share of total imports.
