Saudi Arabia was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which reached 74% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by Oman (9%).

Saudi Arabia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the preparations used in animal feeding exports, with a CAGR of +24.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Oman (+19.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Saudi Arabia amounted to +24.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+1.2% per year) and Oman (+21.5% per year).

The export price in GCC stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 19%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After seven years of growth, purchases abroad of preparations used in animal feeding decreased by -3.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 37%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In value terms, preparations for animal feeding imports reached $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 36%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the largest importers of preparations used in animal feeding in GCC, together mixing up 64% of total imports. Oman (X tons) took a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kuwait (12%), Qatar (6.2%) and Bahrain (5.3%).

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +12.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest preparations for animal feeding importing markets in GCC were Saudi Arabia ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Kuwait ($X), together accounting for 84% of total imports. Oman, Qatar and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

The import price in GCC stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
