The United Arab Emirates prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 90% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Oman (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) - each finished at a 9.3% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Qatar (X tons) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Saudi Arabia (18%), Kuwait (6.1%) and Oman (5.8%).
The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the sanitary ware and parts of copper imports, with a CAGR of -2.3% from 2012 to 2021. Kuwait (-3.6%), Oman (-4.8%), Qatar (-9.9%) and Saudi Arabia (-13.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+19 p.p.) and Kuwait (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Qatar (-5.5 p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (-15.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Qatar ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with an 11% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, copper sanitary ware imports decreased by an average annual rate of -3.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Qatar (-8.0% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-13.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in GCC stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 8.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
