In value terms, ski-suit exports fell sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 213%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

Bahrain was the key exporter of ski-suits (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles) in GCC, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was approx. 62% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kuwait (X units), mixing up a 34% share of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Kuwait (with a CAGR of +32.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Bahrain ($X) remains the largest ski-suit supplier in GCC, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kuwait ($X), with a 20% share of total exports.

Export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, ski-suit export price decreased by -35.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 26%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of ski-suits (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles) in GCC surged to X units, with an increase of 79% against the year before. Overall, imports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 146%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, ski-suit imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 223%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The United Arab Emirates (X units) and Kuwait (X units) prevails in imports structure, together creating 97% of total imports. Bahrain (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +61.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Kuwait ($X) and Bahrain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 98% of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Kuwait, with a CAGR of +43.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 67%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
