Saudi Arabia (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together making up 87% of total exports. Kuwait (X tons) took a 7.8% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Oman (5.1%).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Oman (with a CAGR of +9.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, the largest concrete tile supplying countries in GCC were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Oman ($X), together comprising 95% of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Oman, with a CAGR of +5.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in GCC stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -2.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 25%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, overseas purchases of tiles, flagstones, bricks and similar articles, of cement, concrete or artificial stone decreased by -6.2% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after four years of growth. In general, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concrete tile imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Saudi Arabia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Bahrain (X tons) and Oman (X tons) represented roughly 88% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kuwait (X tons), mixing up a 10% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +6.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported tiles, flagstones, bricks and similar articles, of cement, concrete or artificial stone in GCC, comprising 51% of total imports.
