Exports in GCC

Transmission apparatus exports amounted to X tons in 2021, picking up by 2.3% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports showed modest growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 92%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, transmission apparatus exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 64%. In the United Arab Emirates, transmission apparatus exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+2.6% per year) and Oman (+24.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per ton, growing by 28% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2021, approx. X tons of transmission apparatus incorporating reception apparatus were imported in GCC; with an increase of 31% on 2020 figures. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, transmission apparatus imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which reached 77% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X tons), mixing up a 15% share of total imports. Oman (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of transmission apparatus incorporating reception apparatus. At the same time, Oman (+9.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +9.3% from 2012-2021.
