Kuwait was the major exporter of transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes in GCC, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was approx. 37% of total exports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Saudi Arabia (X units), Oman (X units) and Bahrain (X units). Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +37.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Bahrain (-1.9%), the United Arab Emirates (-19.3%) and Saudi Arabia (-20.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kuwait (+34 p.p.), Oman (+14 p.p.) and Bahrain (+7.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-24.6 p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (-31.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the largest transporter and bridge cranes supplying countries in GCC were Kuwait ($X), Bahrain ($X) and Oman ($X), with a combined 76% share of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Oman, with a CAGR of +27.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 43% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per unit), while Saudi Arabia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (+4.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in GCC
In 2021, approx. X units of transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes were imported in GCC; picking up by 6.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate pronounced growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 246% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, transporter and bridge cranes imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Qatar was the key importer of transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes in GCC, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 62% of total imports in 2021. Oman (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 24% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates (11%). Kuwait (X units) took a little share of total imports.
Qatar was also the fastest-growing in terms of the transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes imports, with a CAGR of +22.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Oman (+12.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Kuwait (-8.2%) and the United Arab Emirates (-14.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Among the main importing countries, Qatar, with a CAGR of +37.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in GCC amounted to $X per unit, surging by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
