Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +35.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Bahrain (-36.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United Arab Emirates (+49 p.p.), Oman (+14 p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+13 p.p.) and Kuwait (+3.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Bahrain saw its share reduced by -79.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest women’s bathrobe supplier in GCC, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Oman ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 7.4% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, women’s bathrobe exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Oman (+20.2% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+31.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In general, imports posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 99%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, women’s bathrobe imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +72.1% against 2017 indices.
