Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +41.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Oman increased by +7.4, +3.4 and +2.3 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported wooden furniture of a kind used in the bedroom in GCC, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kuwait ($X), with a 9% share of total imports. It was followed by Oman, with an 8.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates amounted to +1.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kuwait (+4.5% per year) and Oman (+5.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -2.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a deep slump.
