From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Spain amounted to +24.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+14.4% per year) and the Czech Republic (+33.4% per year).

In 2022, South Africa (X tons) constituted the largest chromates supplier to Germany, accounting for a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, chromates imports from South Africa exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), eightfold. Kazakhstan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from South Africa amounted to +3.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+293.1% per year) and Kazakhstan (-8.1% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from South Africa stood at +2.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+249.9% per year) and Kazakhstan (-5.6% per year).

In 2022, the average chromates import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the price for South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+28.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
