Belgium (X tons), France (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports from Germany, with a combined 48% share of total exports. Italy, Spain, Austria, the UK, the Czech Republic, Poland, India, Greece, Russia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +9.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed notable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 66%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives supplier to Germany, with a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 18% share.
