Poland (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre filament exports from Germany, with a combined 43% share of total exports.

In 2021, the average glass fibre filament export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 2.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+16.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Germany
In 2021, approx. X tons of glass fibre filaments were imported into Germany; almost unchanged from the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 17%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, glass fibre filament imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild reduction. Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibre filament imports to Germany, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Egypt, China, Russia, France and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Egypt (with a CAGR of +54.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
