The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +64.5% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons) was the main destination for cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives exports from Germany, accounting for a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), sixfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Italy was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+13.9% per year) and the UK (-1.7% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X), Turkey ($X) and Austria ($X) constituted the largest markets for cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives exported from Germany worldwide, with a combined 59% share of total exports. China, the UK, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Finland, with a CAGR of +68.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 64%. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Germany
In 2022, overseas purchases of halogenated derivatives of cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic hydrocarbons increased by 12% to X tons, rising for the third year in a row after seven years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 49%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 51%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives supplier to Germany, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X tons), tenfold.
