The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 44%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main destinations of halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports from Germany, together comprising 52% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Egypt (with a CAGR of +51.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest markets for halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exported from Germany worldwide, with a combined 36% share of total exports. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
