In value terms, non-alloy steel i-sections exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of non-alloy steel i-sections exports from Germany, together accounting for 48% of total exports. France, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Mexico, Italy, Canada, Denmark, Austria, Brazil and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +16.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-alloy steel i-sections export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 53% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Germany
In 2021, overseas purchases of i-sections of non-alloy steel were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-alloy steel i-sections imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Luxembourg (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-alloy steel i-sections to Germany, with a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, non-alloy steel i-sections imports from Luxembourg exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), threefold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Luxembourg stood at +8.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+0.1% per year) and Spain (-3.0% per year).
In value terms, Luxembourg ($X) constituted the largest supplier of i-sections of non-alloy steel to Germany, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Luxembourg totaled +10.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+2.1% per year) and Spain (-0.4% per year).

The average non-alloy steel i-sections import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Russia ($X per ton) and Spain ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
