Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, tall oil fatty acids imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Finland (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of tall oil fatty acids imports to Germany, with a combined 83% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +34.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Finland ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the largest tall oil fatty acids suppliers to Germany, together accounting for 82% of total imports.
