In value terms, oleo oils exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 491% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Switzerland (X tons) were the main destinations of oleo oils exports from Germany, together comprising 100% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +5.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest markets for oleo oils exported from Germany were Belgium ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Switzerland ($X), with a combined 100% share of total exports.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +6.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In 2021, the average oleo oils export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 66% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild slump. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+52.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Germany
In 2021, supplies from abroad of lard stearin, lard oil, oleostearin, oleo-oil and tallow oil decreased by -4.9% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports saw a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, oleo oils imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of oleo oils imports to Germany, together accounting for 89% of total imports. Poland, Spain and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9.8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +55.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), France ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the largest oleo oils suppliers to Germany, together accounting for 89% of total imports. Poland, Spain and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.9%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +53.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average oleo oils import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
