The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 21%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.
Imports by Country
Italy (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of nonwoven fabric imports to Germany, together comprising 38% of total imports. France, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Belgium, China, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +119.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average nonwoven fabric import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 11% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
