The Netherlands (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of oat exports from Germany, with a combined 84% share of total exports. Italy, Poland and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.

In 2022, oat imports into Germany declined notably to X tons, falling by -19.3% compared with 2021 figures. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -23.0% against 2020 indices. Finland (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of oat imports to Germany, with a combined 60% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +44.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Finland ($X), Sweden ($X) and the UK ($X) were the largest oat suppliers to Germany, with a combined 56% share of total imports.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 14%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Ireland ($X per ton) and Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Finland ($X per ton) and France ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
