The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Austria (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of porcelain tableware and kitchenware exports from Germany, with a combined 33% share of total exports. Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States, Slovakia, the UK, Spain, Sweden and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +17.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for porcelain tableware and kitchenware exported from Germany were Austria ($X), Italy ($X) and the United States ($X), together accounting for 27% of total exports. Switzerland, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, South Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Sweden and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.

Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 7.1% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Germany
Porcelain tableware and kitchenware imports into Germany stood at X tons in 2022, surging by 13% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, porcelain tableware and kitchenware imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of porcelain tableware and kitchenware to Germany, with a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, porcelain tableware and kitchenware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Czech Republic (X tons), with an 8.2% share.
