The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 14%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, preserved cows meat imports stood at $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

The Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved cows meat imports to Germany, with a combined 55% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Austria, Ireland, France, Brazil, Sweden and Italy, which together accounted for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +20.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
