In 2022, the average raw silk export price amounted to $X per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. In general, the export price showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, overseas purchases of raw silk increased by 20% to X tons, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 99%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, raw silk imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) was the main supplier of raw silk to Germany, with a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by Brazil (X tons), with a 1.5% share of total imports.
