Overall, total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -25.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 34%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, hand stamp imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 29%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of hand stamp to Germany, accounting for a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, hand stamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United States (X units), with a 7.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +4.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (-5.0% per year) and the United States (-2.5% per year).
