The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey (X units), the UK (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of wind powered generator exports from Germany, with a combined 37% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Sweden, Vietnam, the United States, Norway, Taiwan (Chinese), the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Israel and Finland, which together accounted for a further 48%.

In 2021, the average wind powered generator export price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 27,753% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a sharp downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 144% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wind powered generator imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 258%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest wind powered generator supplier to Germany, accounting for a 78% share of total imports.
