The UK (X tons) was the main destination for cow peas exports from Ghana, with a 76% share of total exports. Moreover, cow peas exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, India (X tons), sixfold. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cow peas imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 69% against the previous year.
