After five years of growth, the Ghanian food mixer market decreased by -8.8% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption, however, posted a resilient increase. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (X units) was the main destination for food mixer exports from Ghana, with a 79% share of total exports. Moreover, food mixer exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Togo (X units), fivefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to the Netherlands stood at +64.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Togo (+28.5% per year) and Rwanda (-10.9% per year).

In 2022, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of domestic food grinders and mixers and fruit or vegetable juice extractors, when their volume decreased by -5.1% to X units. Overall, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 189%. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, food mixer imports fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
