The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 3% share.

In 2022, after eight years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of mixtures of odoriferous substances and their preparations, when their volume decreased by -3.5% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 101%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

In value terms, odoriferous substance mixture imports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Ireland (X tons) and Senegal (X tons) were the main suppliers of odoriferous substance mixture imports to Ghana, with a combined 56% share of total imports. China, the UK, Egypt, France, South Africa, India, Spain, Italy, the United States and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
