The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 10,140%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of preserved swine meat cut to Ghana, accounting for a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved swine meat cut imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Africa (X kg), threefold. France (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany amounted to +97.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Africa (+57.1% per year) and France (+18.7% per year).

In value terms, the largest preserved swine meat cut suppliers to Ghana were South Africa ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 64% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 15%.

Germany, with a CAGR of +82.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved swine meat cut import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 10% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine years.
