Pumps For Liquids Market Size in Ghana

In 2022, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in the Ghanian pumps for liquids market, when its value decreased by -7.1% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, posted prominent growth. Pumps for liquids consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Exports from Ghana

In 2022, approx. X units of pumps for liquids were exported from Ghana; falling by -74.3% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 563% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pumps for liquids exports fell significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 2,305%. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Mali (X units) was the main destination for pumps for liquids exports from Ghana, with a 44% share of total exports. Moreover, pumps for liquids exports to Mali exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Africa (X units), threefold. Cote d'Ivoire (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Mali amounted to +7.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Africa (+5.2% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+11.6% per year).

In value terms, Mali ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for pumps for liquids exports from Ghana, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Nigeria, with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Mali stood at +18.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cote d'Ivoire (+19.1% per year) and Nigeria (+55.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average pumps for liquids export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 138% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 522%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+49.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Pumps For Liquids Imports

Imports into Ghana

After five years of growth, overseas purchases of pumps for liquids decreased by -11.1% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 109%. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, pumps for liquids imports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 175%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Italy (X units) and India (X units) were the main suppliers of pumps for liquids imports to Ghana, together accounting for 77% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +53.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of pumps for liquids to Ghana, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Africa ($X), with a 6.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +51.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Africa (+13.9% per year) and Germany (+11.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average pumps for liquids import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 6.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the price for India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
