Over the period under review, exports recorded a sharp curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 235% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X cubic meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood exports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 258%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood imports reduced notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 243% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Chile (X cubic meters), the United States (X cubic meters) and Turkey (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of preservative-treated rough wood imports to Ghana, together comprising 88% of total imports.
