As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, roasted coffee substitutes exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

India represented the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 54% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), achieving an 11% share of total exports. China (X tons), Chile (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Spain (X tons), South Africa (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Germany (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+22.0%), Russia (+16.6%), Spain (+5.6%), Portugal (+5.5%), Chile (+4.2%) and Thailand (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +22.0% from 2012-2021. South Korea, South Africa and Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, China (-1.9%) and Germany (-19.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. India (+20 p.p.) and Belarus (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while China, Poland and Germany saw its share reduced by -2.4%, -3.8% and -12.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest roasted coffee substitutes supplying countries worldwide were Poland ($X), India ($X) and Portugal ($X), with a combined 43% share of global exports. Germany, Spain, Chile, South Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Russia, China and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

Belarus, with a CAGR of +16.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average roasted coffee substitutes export price amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 5.4% against the previous year. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, roasted coffee substitutes imports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +38.5% from 2012-2021. Italy and France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Russia (-2.6%), Germany (-2.7%), Belgium (-3.8%), Spain (-4.7%) and Poland (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of South Africa (+11 p.p.), Portugal (+2.6 p.p.) and Vietnam (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of Poland (-2 p.p.), Germany (-2.1 p.p.), Spain (-2.5 p.p.) and Russia (-4.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest roasted coffee substitutes importing markets worldwide were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 24% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Russia, South Africa, Peru, Spain, the United States, South Korea, Belgium, Portugal, Vietnam and Poland, which together accounted for a further 39%.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +43.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average roasted coffee substitutes import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -2% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 9.5% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
