In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Japan (X tons), China (X tons), Austria (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the major exporters of electrical insulating fittings of plastics, together making up 71% of total exports. The following exporters - Italy (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons) and France (X tons) - together made up 13% of total exports.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belgium (+17.0%), Spain (+7.1%), Thailand (+6.6%), South Korea (+6.1%), Hungary (+6.0%), Austria (+5.6%), France (+3.0%), the Czech Republic (+2.8%) and Poland (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belgium emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +17.0% from 2012-2022. Italy and Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, China (-2.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (+5 p.p.) and Belgium (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Japan (-2.4 p.p.) and China (-5.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest electrical insulating fittings supplier worldwide, comprising 26% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 12% share of global exports. It was followed by Japan, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany stood at +6.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+10.7% per year) and Japan (-1.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average electrical insulating fittings export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -3.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 7.9%. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. Global imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, electrical insulating fittings imports declined to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average electrical insulating fittings import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -7.7% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 7.3% against the previous year.
