The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, table linen exports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
China dominates exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. 62% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X tons) and India (X tons), together mixing up a 14% share of total exports. Turkey (X tons), Germany (X tons), Greece (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Mexico (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and Poland (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of table linen, knitted or crocheted. At the same time, Greece (+64.1%), Poland (+8.3%), the Netherlands (+8.0%), Pakistan (+6.2%), France (+2.4%) and Turkey (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Greece emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +64.1% from 2012-2022. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mexico (-1.7%), Belgium (-4.0%) and India (-4.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Pakistan (+3.7 p.p.) and Greece (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while India saw its share reduced by -2.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest table linen supplier worldwide, comprising 55% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 6% share of global exports. It was followed by Pakistan, with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+2.9% per year) and Pakistan (+6.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average table linen export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 24%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.5%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of table linen, knitted or crocheted increased by 11% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

At the same time, Greece (+19.1%), Poland (+11.0%), Italy (+4.8%), the Netherlands (+4.4%), Spain (+3.8%) and Canada (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Greece emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +19.1% from 2012-2022. Australia, France, Germany and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belgium (-5.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United States (+10 p.p.), Italy (+1.7 p.p.) and Greece (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2022, the share of Germany (-1.6 p.p.) and Belgium (-1.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 8% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 7% share.
In the United States, table linen imports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-1.8% per year) and France (-1.0% per year).
