The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, Spain (X tons), distantly followed by Mexico (X tons), Iran (X tons), Morocco (X tons), Italy (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Greece (X tons) represented the key exporters of watermelons, together mixing up 59% of total exports. The following exporters - Guatemala (X tons), Turkey (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Brazil (X tons), Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) - together made up 18% of total exports.
