Over the period under review, export price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the last nine years. Over the period under review, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, acetic acid imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted resilient growth. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In 2021, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest acetic acid supplier to Greece, with a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, acetic acid imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X tons), fourfold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.7% share.
