In 2021, the Greek agricultural appliance market increased by 3.8% to $X, rising for the fourth consecutive year after four years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption enjoyed a strong expansion. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, agricultural appliance production skyrocketed to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 277% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In 2021, the amount of agricultural appliances exported from Greece totaled X units, surging by 6.3% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 64%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, agricultural appliance exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Spain (X units), Italy (X units) and Romania (X units) were the main destinations of agricultural appliance exports from Greece, with a combined 48% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, Mexico, Turkey, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Peru, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 32%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of +44.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for agricultural appliance exported from Greece were Spain ($X), Italy ($X) and Romania ($X), together accounting for 47% of total exports. Turkey, Mexico, Russia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Peru, Ukraine, Morocco and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.

Among the main countries of destination, Mexico, with a CAGR of +47.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average agricultural appliance export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 27% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, agricultural appliance export price increased by +29.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 110%. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to Ukraine ($X per unit) and Turkey ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($X per unit) and Morocco ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Greece

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of agricultural appliances increased by 19% to X units in 2021. In general, imports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 199% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, agricultural appliance imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +77.1% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Italy (X units), China (X units) and Israel (X units) were the main suppliers of agricultural appliance imports to Greece, with a combined 51% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, France, Spain, Egypt and the United States, which together accounted for a further 39%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +108.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Israel ($X) and France ($X) constituted the largest agricultural appliance suppliers to Greece, together accounting for 53% of total imports. China, the United States, Turkey, Spain and Egypt lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

Among the main suppliers, Turkey, with a CAGR of +43.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average agricultural appliance import price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 5.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for Egypt ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
