The Greek amplifier market surged to $X in 2022, picking up by 27% against the previous year. In 2022, shipments abroad of amplifiers decreased by -45.4% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 705%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

In value terms, amplifier exports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw buoyant growth. Exports by Country

Slovakia (X units) was the main destination for amplifier exports from Greece, with a 51% share of total exports. Moreover, amplifier exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Cyprus (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X units), with a 6.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovakia totaled +3,859.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cyprus (+26.9% per year) and Italy (+29.5% per year).

In value terms, Cyprus ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for amplifier exported from Greece worldwide, with a combined 57% share of total exports. Slovakia, Canada, Germany and Estonia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 4.9%.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Greece

In 2022, overseas purchases of amplifiers increased by 0.1% to X units, rising for the sixth year in a row after three years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 113%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, amplifier imports dropped significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 115%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of amplifier imports to Greece, together accounting for 86% of total imports. Italy, Belgium, the UK and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7%.
