The Greek stationery market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Italy (X tons) was the main destination for stationery exports from Greece, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, stationery exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Cyprus (X tons), with an 8.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Italy amounted to +63.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+29.5% per year) and Cyprus (+7.1% per year).

In value terms, Italy ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for articles of stationery exports from Greece, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cyprus ($X), with a 9.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6% share.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest stationery supplier to Greece, accounting for a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, stationery imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Romania (X tons), with an 11% share.
