Bulgaria (X tons) was the main destination for cauliflower and broccoli exports from Greece, accounting for a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, cauliflower and broccoli exports to Bulgaria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Romania (X tons), twofold. Imports into Greece
In 2022, supplies from abroad of cauliflower and broccoli decreased by -9.6% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 69%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest cauliflower and broccoli supplier to Greece, accounting for a 36% share of total imports. Moreover, cauliflower and broccoli imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with a 12% share.
