The Greek crab and crab meat market rose modestly to $X in 2021, with an increase of 3.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption posted a significant expansion. South Korea (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of crab and crab meat exports from Greece, together accounting for 52% of total exports. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, crab and crab meat imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a strong increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Gambia (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Cyprus (X tons) were the main suppliers of crab and crab meat imports to Greece, together comprising 54% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Gambia (with a CAGR of +1,807.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
