In value terms, fiberboard exports reached $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Albania (X cubic meters) was the main destination for fiberboard exports from Greece, with a 29% share of total exports. Moreover, fiberboard exports to Albania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bulgaria (X cubic meters), twofold. Italy (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Albania amounted to -10.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bulgaria (-4.6% per year) and Italy (+11.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for fiberboard exported from Greece were Albania ($X), Bulgaria ($X) and Romania ($X), with a combined 43% share of total exports. Italy, Serbia, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Qatar, North Macedonia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lebanon lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 48%.
Qatar, with a CAGR of +117.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, export price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fiberboard export price increased by +76.6% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Albania ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
